A very brief historical blip for both the curious and the skeptic:
Medical astrology is my absolute favorite medical science! The history of astrology, as far as we know it, begins in ancient Sumer (present-day Iraq). This civilization dates back further than Egypt, with astrological writings on clay tablets dating back to 3500 B.C., possibly earlier. These Sumerian tablets make up the first historical records of astrology (that we have physical proof of today).
Although, medical astrology records date back to the Egyptians, it would make sense to assume that the Sumerian’s certainly had a similar medical system since they had so much astrological documentation.
It has been said that medical astrology works were originally copied from the Library of Alexandria. However, after it was burned down, what we are left with today is but a mere remnant.
Now, I understand that those facts don’t necessarily matter to the average passerby, but they’re excellent time stamps in history that shows not only the relevancy but, also the reliability of such a ‘taboo’ science. When I first take on skeptics, I bring up these remnants as they STILL present considerable placement in today’s current ‘modern’ medical system.
From the Greek to the medieval period, the astrological symbols and astrological language is used throughout their medical documentation as well as in our current ‘modern’ medical system.
Now, tell me why, if there is no correlation between the health of your body to the cosmos, do we then refer to something so significant, like biological gender, to the planets (Venus being a symbol for female and mars symbol for male)? Additionally Our literature references “jovial”, “mercurial”, and “saturnine” as temperaments, yet these are planetary names. Likewise, “venereal” diseases and varicose “veins” both ailments attributed to Venus and “Mense,” often called “Moonses” is still used in relation to menstruation in both historical and modern day texts.
Have you ever looked at the prescription pad your medication was written on by your doctor? The ‘Rx’ symbol is an astrological symbol as well, meaning “radix”, an old term for one’s astrological natal chart. The prescribing physician from the medieval period would place this mark on the client’s prescription to indicate they had reviewed their horoscope. This Rx was a confirmed that the written script was appropriate to the individual’s needs.
Even more in your face, the prominent symbol for the medical profession itself is the staff of Mercury!
These all acknowledge a link between the cosmos our physical make up and our very existence. Furthermore, they are used daily in the medical field without the insinuation that your practitioner must be crazy for utilizing them.
Another great aspect to the Astrological Health chart is that it can be utilized as a preventative measure. Knowledge about any predispositions can help you prepare for the best interventions and/ or avoid their manifestation.
So, if your curiosity is piqued and you’d like to explore your health through your medical astrological health chart then I encourage you to purchase the Astrological Health Chart and see what the cosmos is reflecting within you.
